Tragaki is a village with hills and coasts, 11 kms southwest of the city of Zakynthos. Tragaki is a green-clad village with big olive groves, vines and fruit-bearing trees. It has many hotels of different classes, rooms and villas, inside the settlement as well as in the surrounding area. It also has an organized camping with lots of facilities.
The monastery of the Virgin of Dermatas or Dermatoussa, in the south part of Tragaki, constitutes a remarkable architectural edifice. The monastery is situated in the Darmatas grove at a cypress hill of approximately 14 acres. At this area is found the Open Theatre of Dermatoussa, of a capacity of 500.
