Zante Jazz Festival hosts nine groups of jazz and improvised music. Among them are top class Greek jazz men like the Finland based George Kontrafouris, rising new groups like the awarded Poly Quartet and foreign musicians like the trio of the Spanish pianist Cesar Latorre.
Emphasis is given to the variety of sound (with groups based on the piano, the guitar, the voice, the winds, and electric instruments), as well as the variety of style, with influences ranging from Brazilian to traditional music, and from mainstream to modern jazz.
