Ο Διονύσης Μπουκουβάλας
Born in Athens, Greece, in 1979, and grew up in Zakynthos, where he started studying piano and music theory at the age of nine. He has the diplomas of musicology (Athens University), Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue (all with grade A), and the piano diploma (first prize). He is particularly interested in improvisation, having given two solo concerts (Estoudiantina hall 2004, Athenaeum 2005). He is particularly influenced by the music of Keith Jarrett (alteration of light and shadow) and the romantic minimalism of Wim Mertens. He is engaged in composition from the beginning of his musical studies. His work Chemins fermés won a prize on the Athens Megaron «Workshops» concert cycle. He has also written music for eight plays (Michael Ende, William Shakespeare et al).
