Zante Jazz Festival is the coming together of musicians from the field of jazz and improvised music. It is organized for the first time this year and it is the realization of our goal to promote jazz music in Greece.
The festival will be hosted in the open theatre of “Dermatoussa”, located in the region of the Municipality of Arkadion, surrounded by the beautiful nature of Zakynthos, and will take place from the 10th to the 12th of July 2009. Visitors will have the chance to watch concerts given by three groups every day, scheduled in a programme of two and a half hours per day.
Among our intentions are to expose jazz music to a wider audience, to offer visitors of the island an alternative musical experience and, in the long term, to help establish the festival as a high level and prestigious institution on an island with such a rich musical tradition as Zakynthos.
We would like to thank the Municipality of Arkadion, under the auspices of which this year’s festival is organized and all the private sponsors and friends that have lent their support to the development of this festival.
